The son of the American salsa and Latin jazz legend Tito Puente, Tito Puente, Jr. is determined to continue his father’s legacy of bringing joy to audiences worldwide through joyful and uplifting music. Never forgetting his salsa and jazz roots, Tito Puente, Jr. still maintains a sound all his own, bringing a modern Latin sound to traditional mambo and salsa. Just like his father, Tito Puente, Jr. is best experienced live, so don’t miss Tito’s intimate performance on The Lyric stage this January.

Harnessing his father’s legendary energy and style, Tito Puente, Jr. has performed in venues across the country, from symphony halls to jazz festivals. Over the past five years, Tito has played over 300 shows, impressing audiences with his vibrant and innovative Latin jazz compositions. In 2004, Tito Puente, Jr. released In My Father’s Shoes, a critically acclaimed album that was made into a BET Jazz television special of the same name. On radio and television, Tito has appeared on the NPR tribute The Apollo at 70: A Hot Night in Harlem as well as on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live, playing alongside his big band. Tito Puente, Jr. has also performed in a number of symphonies across the United States, including the Dallas, San Antonio, and South Bend symphonies.

Tito Puente, Jr.’s latest release entitled Got Mambo? marks a new turning point in his music career. Featuring guest artists Bobby Cruz and Hansel & Raul, Got Mambo? is a perfect mixture of both old-school mambo and innovative salsa compositions. The album has been praised by tropical and Latin Jazz critics as a career-changing release, elevating Tito to a whole new artistic level.
