Unique for their blending of pop hits, Broadway tunes, and classical opera, La Diva Tenors are a four-person vocal ensemble, featuring the professionally trained voices of three powerful tenors and one beautiful soprano. La Diva Tenors have collaborated with some of the most respected artists in the business, such as Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo.
La Diva Tenor’s Antonio Buonauro began his vocal studies as a young boy growing up in Europe. Buonauro later completed his training in the United States, attending the formidable Juilliard School and Mannes School of Music. The European tenor debuted with the New York Grand Opera, performing in Puccini’s Trittico, which received stellar reviews from major critics including the New York Times. Since his debut, Antonio Buonauro has starred in a number of operatic productions, including La Boheme, Rigoletto, and La Traviata.
Tenor Thomas Bethman began his career on stage, performing as a child singer in community and regional theaters across the U.S., Asia, and Europe. He began his formal opera training at The Eastman School of Music, later continuing his studies at the Juilliard School. Since he began singing, Bethman has performed in 44 countries, an incredible feat for any musician. Over his career, Thomas Bethman has worked with a range of impressive conductors, including David Gilbert, Roland Fiore, and Alphonse Stephenson.
James Gafgen debuted in the New York production of The Marriage of Figaro as Don Basilio. He completed ten years of vocal training with the legendary vocal coach Louise Caselotti, who famously taught the American-Greek soprano Maria Callas. Since his opera debut, Gafgen has performed for four Governors, including Jim Florio and Arnold Schwarzenegger. James Gafgen also had the incredible opportunity to open for The Three Tenors Concert with featured Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras in New Jersey.
Last, but certainly not least, is La Diva’s Tenor’s soprano and resident diva, Donna Buonauro. Naturally gifted with a powerful voice, Donna Buonauro began performing at a young age, traveling across the country from New York to California. The talented soprano has extensive experience on the stage, both in an orchestral and Broadway context. Donna performed a beautiful rendition of “God Bless America” at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2001 as a tribute to the victims of September 11th.
