"Christine Andreas has accomplished the remarkable feat of making us recall each great star she honors on this album and then, at the same time, making us forget them as we listen to her fresh, new, exciting and often breathtaking interpretations of their songs. Here's to the Ladies...is dazzling!"
- Jerry Herman, August, 2002
"A blend of lyricism and sweet sensuality that only the finest Broadway voices can conjure. Although Ms. Andreas can be witty and playful, it is on the ballads (especially "They Say It's Wonderful" and "Bill") in which she delicately kills with the sheer beauty of her voice."

Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience garner GRAMMY for Dockside Sessions! Don't miss him live at The Lyric, May 10th!
Simien is one of the most respected and internationally recognized artists in roots music today. Together with his Zydeco Experience Band, he has taken Zydeco to a new level of recognition and popularity, creating a fusion of sound like no other. Simien has continued to raise the standard for the genre by establishing himself as a formidable songwriter and an accomplished singer (frequently evoking comparisons with Aaron Neville and Sam Cooke).
Simien writes from a decidedly different perspective than other Zydeco artists, drawing on a wide range of influences that include not only Zydeco pioneers, but also popular folk and soul artists, such as Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye, and Simon and Garfunkel. He has shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Dr. John, the Dave Matthews Band and Los Lobos, to name a few.
Incorporating diverse music styles, Simien creates a hypnotic blend of Zydeco-roots-New Orleans funk-reggae-Afro-Caribbean music that will force you out of your seat and onto the dance floor. Get ready to become Zydeco Experienced!

Travis Tritt "Solo Acoustic Tour"
Country music superstar, Travis Tritt makes his highly anticipated return to The Lyric to reprise last year's sold-out solo acoustic performances. Tritt, notoriously labeled a 'renegade' and a 'bad-boy', will take take the stage, armed with only his guitar to share a stripped down, honest and reflective performance as one of the most successful and acclaimed musical creators of his era. Travis Tritt's impressive career thus far boasts more than forty hits on the Hot Country Songs charts, including five number ones — "Help Me Hold On," "Anymore," "Can I Trust You with My Heart," "Foolish Pride" and "Best of Intentions.” Seven of his albums (counting the Greatest Hits) are certified platinum or higher, and he’s had 15 additional top ten singles. "At 50, to still have a career and be able to surprise people with music – I'm humbled and very thankful. It's a God given gift." Which is another way of saying that for Travis Tritt, it's nothing but clear skies, open windows and dry pavement ahead.

Former White House chef John Moeller cooks three-course meal, talks about feeding First Families
Posted February 3, 2014 at 11:05 p.m.
Former White House chef John Moeller served three presidents and their families during his time as a White House chef from 1992 to 2005.
He talked about his interactions with the First Families and cooked a three course meal for guests Monday evening at Piper's Landing in Palm city. The private event was a preview to his appearance Wednesday evening at The Lyric Theatre in Stuart, in which he will cook on stage as part of his book tour promoting "Dining at the White House."
Guests Monday dined on winter squash soup, roasted filet mignon and a warm chocolate tarte with raspberry sauce.
"He's so impressive," said Irene Luneski, house manager of The Lyric and Moeller's aunt.Moeller had been visiting Luneski in the spring when she introduced him to John Loeser, the Lyric's executive producer.
"I could see the lightbulb go off over (Loesser's) head when I told him my nephew was a White House chef, Luneski said. "He was so excited to bring him to The Lyric."
Loesser joked about going to visit Moeller at his home in Lancaster, Pa.
"I found myself running around Lancaster searching for natural potatoes with him," Loesser said.
At the end of Monday's gathering, Moeller answered guests' questions, telling the crowd of more than 60 that of the three presidents he served, President George H. W. Bush and his family had the most expansive pallets because they were so well traveled.
President Bill Clinton and his family would come late to dinner most often, he said, and President George W. Bush was a simple "meat and potatoes kinda guy."

When the saints go marching in, they’ll be doing it to the high-steppin’ sounds of New Orleans' Own Dukes of Dixieland. With trombones, trumpets and clarinets raised high, the Dukes proudly carry on one of New Orleans’ most valued traditions. If you want to get technical about it, Dixieland is an amalgam of brass band marches, French Quadrilles, ragtime and blues, played in a polyphonic format. For the rest of us, that means a spirited, joyful variation on jazz known to early musicians as small-band swing.
