Iris Official Trailer 1 (2015) - Iris Apfel Documentary HD
Iris Official Trailer 1 (2015) - Iris Apfel Documentary HD IRIS pairs legendary 87-year-old documentarian Albert Maysles with Iris Apfel, the quick-witted, flamboyantly dressed 93-year-old style maven who has had an outsized presence on the New York fashion scene for decades. More than a fashion film, the documentary is a story about creativity and how, even in Iris' dotage, a soaring free spirit continues to inspire. IRIS portrays a singular woman whose enthusiasm for fashion, art and people are life's sustenance and reminds us that dressing, and indeed life, is nothing but an experiment. Despite the abundance of glamour in her current life, she continues to embrace the values and work ethic established during a middle-class Queens upbringing during the Great Depression. "I feel lucky to be working. If you're lucky enough to do something you love, everything else follows."

Dior was a very superstitious man and this only increased as he got older. He always included a garment in every collection named after his home town of Grandville and in every one of his shows, at least, one model had to carry a bunch of white lilies.

Dior and I ~ Art Cinema
Unlike many of his fashion contemporise, Christian Dior was born into a wealthy French family. Dior was born in Granville, a coastal town in Normandy, France in 1905. His father was a wealthy businessman who owned a fertilizer company, and the family moved to Paris, when Dior was about five years old. Christian Dior is one of the best known names in fashion and he has been accredited with bringing many new styles to women’s fashion. Initially though, women didn’t like his styles very much, because many of his designs used yards of fabric and covered up their legs.

Lee Greenwood
at The Lyric Theatre Nov 8, 2015 9:00 pm
http://ls4.co/Xfp
The Lyric welcomes award-winning country music star Lee Greenwood to the stage this season. Best known for his signature song “God Bless the USA,” Greenwood has released more than twenty major-label albums over his long and impressive career. Winner of multiple Male Vocalist of the Year awards, Lee Greenwood has built a reputation as one of the most successful country music artists of all time. This season at The Lyric Theatre, Greenwood will perform hits such as “Somebody’s Gonna Love You” and “Going Going Gone.”
Born in Los Angeles, Lee Greenwood began singing at the age of 7, performing in his local church choir. In 1962, the vocalist and instrumentalist founded his first band, The Apollos. Performing in Las Vegas casinos to great acclaim, Greenwood was quickly discovered by Larry McFaden, the bandleader of Mel Tillis. By 1981, Lee Greenwood had signed with the major recording label MCA, jumpstarting his career. The country music artist recorded “God Bless the USA,” the song that would define his career, in 1984. Although popular when it was first released, the song became a patriotic anthem for Americans everywhere following the attacks on 9/11. The classic has reached the top five spot on the Billboard country singles chart three times since 1991, becoming the only song in any genre of music to do so.
Greenwood’s latest EP, I Want to be in Your World features three of the musician’s original creations, as well as some inspired covers, notably Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins’ “You Can Let it Go Now.” In addition to performing the vocals for each piece, Lee Greenwood also plays the saxophone in his latest release. For his performance at The Lyric Theatre, Lee Greenwood will perform “God Bless the USA” as well as many of his wildly popular country rock singles, including “Dixie Road” and “I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose)” among others.

Dior and I ~ Art Cinema
The designer had a great love for architecture and many of his designs emphasised the shape and the form of the female body. He used many different techniques in his clothes that emphasised the hips and the bust to give women a voluptuous look.

Clouds of Sils Maria ~ Art Cinema
"Don't get hung up on metaphors. Enjoy the virtuoso acting of Binoche and Stewart, and the strange and beautiful artwork Assayas has made of them pinballing around the notion of what it means to be a woman under a microscope." - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

Drama
R/124 min./English
At the peak of her international career, Maria Enders is asked to perform in a revival of the play that made her famous twenty years ago. But back then she played the role of Sigrid, an alluring young girl who disarms and eventually drives her boss Helena to suicide. Now she is being asked to step into the other role, that of the older Helena. She departs with her assistant to rehearse in Sils Maria; a remote region of the Alps. A young Hollywood starlet with a penchant for scandal is to take on the role of Sigrid, and maria finds herself on the other side of the mirror, face to face with an ambiguously charming woman who is, in essence, an unsettling reflection of herself. "The three women in "Clouds of Sils Maria" love, talk and move, move, move, sharing lives, trading roles and performing parts. The lives they lead are messy and indeterminate, but each woman's life belongs to her." - New York Times
"As stirring as Binoche is as Maria, Stewart is breathtaking as Valentine. Assayas uses the issues he parses in "Sils" to zero in on a personal-professional minefield that Stewart has navigated as well." - Los Angeles Times
"Stewart's blazing, blunt, pitch-perfect performance in this film serves as a reminder she's actually one of the best actresses of her generation." -
Chicago Sun-Times

Dior and I ~ Art Cinema
Unlike many of his fashion contemporise, Christian Dior was born into a wealthy French family. Dior was born in Granville, a coastal town in Normandy, France in 1905. His father was a wealthy businessman who owned a fertilizer company, and the family moved to Paris, when Dior was about five years old. Christian Dior is one of the best known names in fashion and he has been accredited with bringing many new styles to women’s fashion. Initially though, women didn’t like his styles very much, because many of his designs used yards of fabric and covered up their legs.
